About the work

BPM is Compagnie Zion’s first founding artistic statement: a short, impactful work in which locking enters into dialogue with live drums. The body becomes a score, percussion, syncopation and breath.

It already contains the themes running through Julia Ortola’s work: the body as an instrument, rhythm as a shared language and groove as a meeting point.

Bringing together choreographic performance and a physical concert, BPM explores rhythm as a shared language between dance and music. An ideal format for festivals, opening acts, shared bills, institutional events and short programmes.
